Speaker Abbas Tajudeen has announced that the House of Representatives will host a high-level Legislative Security Summit later this year.
The summit aims to address Nigeria’s growing security concerns by bringing together key stakeholders, including government officials, security agencies, policy experts, and civil society groups.
The event will focus on improving security by strengthening security institutions, boosting cooperation between agencies, and enhancing the use of intelligence to tackle issues like insurgency and banditry. Other topics will include community policing, border security, and using technology in national defense. This follows up on a 2021 security summit organized by the 9th House of Representatives.
