The House of Representatives has decided to investigate the EFCC and Nigerian Correctional Service over claims that they accepted a N15 million bribe from celebrity crossdresser Bobrisky to drop money laundering charges against him.
This decision came after a motion was raised by Hon. Patrick Umoh (PDP, Akwa-Ibom) during a plenary session. The motion followed reports by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse (VeryDarkMan), who alleged that Bobrisky paid the EFCC to have the charges dropped. The reports also suggested that despite being convicted for abusing naira notes, Bobrisky did not serve his time in prison but was allowed to stay outside.
Umoh voiced concern over these serious allegations against two key law enforcement agencies and the damage they could cause to Nigeria’s image globally.
