Share

Nigeria will need to invest $3 trillion over the next 30 years to close its infrastructure gap, according to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen. Speaking at the flag-off of the construction of a new access road in Abuja, he highlighted critical areas in need of attention, including roads, power supply, housing, healthcare, and education.

Abbas emphasized that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) faces a growing infrastructure deficit, with the city’s population increasing by 5% annually, which is putting pressure on existing facilities.

He commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing infrastructure development and assured that the National Assembly would support the government’s efforts. The Speaker also praised the leadership of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for his transformative work.

The Minister promised that the road construction project would be completed by May next year, in time for the President’s second anniversary.
