The House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review is planning to engage several important groups in its work, including the Nigerian Governors Forum, the Nigeria Guild of Editors, state legislature speakers, political party leaders, and civil society organizations. The aim is to get input from these groups and keep them updated on the progress of the ongoing constitutional review.

Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker and head of the committee, also announced plans for an international dialogue on women’s issues and zonal public hearings to take place in January.

The committee is working towards delivering a new constitution by December 2025. To help with this, subcommittees have been set up to focus on different areas, including local government, judiciary, elections, security, gender issues, and human rights. Kalu also highlighted that recommendations from a women’s summit will be considered in the review process.
