Members of the House of Representatives have donated N100 million to support the victims of the recent petrol tanker explosion in Jigawa State that killed 181 people.
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen led the delegation to the state, where they announced the donation to help with medical treatment for survivors and support the families of those who died.
In addition, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, donated N40 million and food items to the victims. The donations were handed over by Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker’s wife.
Jigawa State Governor Mallam Umar Namadi thanked the donors and assured that the funds would be used for the victims’ recovery. The delegation also visited survivors at the Rasheed Shekoni Federal University Teaching Hospital.
