The House of Representatives has expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle, praising the decision as smart and patriotic. The reshuffle involved the removal of five ministers, including Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim Bio (Youth Development). Seven new ministers were appointed, and 10 others were reassigned to new positions.

Hon. Philip Agbese, deputy spokesman of the House, said the decision to remove and redeploy ministers was in line with the President’s commitment to ensuring good performance. He noted that President Tinubu had previously made it clear that only ministers who performed well would keep their positions. Agbese also highlighted the former Minister of Women Affairs’ poor treatment of the legislature, which contributed to her removal.

The House commended President Tinubu for listening to the concerns of Nigerians, who had called for a reshuffle in light of the country’s challenges. Agbese assured Nigerians that the 10th House of Representatives would continue supporting the President to achieve the Renewed Hope Agenda. He acknowledged the current struggles but emphasized that the efforts being made now will bring future improvements for the country.
