The House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee has denied reports suggesting they gave the CEO of the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Engineer Gbenga Komolafe, a 96-hour ultimatum over claims of revenue leakages.
The committee’s chairman, Hon. Bamidele Salam, clarified that the investigation is still ongoing and no final decision has been reached. The allegations involve missing funds and discrepancies in transactions between NUPRC and other financial bodies.
NUPRC’s spokesperson, Olaide Shonola, argued that the commission has not yet been given a chance to present its side of the story and called the media reports unfair and premature. The committee will meet on Monday to reconcile the figures.
