The House of Representatives has invited Didi Walson-Jack, the Head of Service of the Federation, to provide a full list of civil servants in government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for verification. This is part of efforts to identify those allegedly involved in age falsification within the Civil Service.

The motion, introduced by Hon. Yusuf Ahmed Badau, calls for the investigation and prosecution of civil servants who have falsified their age. Badau stressed the importance of the Federal Civil Service in supporting Nigeria’s public service system, highlighting that age falsification is contributing to the country’s rising unemployment.

He pointed to a recent report from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showing a 5.3% increase in unemployment, urging swift action to tackle the issue. He believes that addressing age falsification will create space for qualified young individuals to contribute to the nation’s development.
