The House of Representatives Committee on Commerce, Hon. Ahmed Munir, Chairman has highlighted the importance of training skilled business educators to help Nigeria’s entrepreneurs succeed. During a public hearing on a bill to set up the Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Corporate Governance, Munir explained that the bill is part of the 10th House of Representatives’ agenda to improve the lives of Nigerians.
Munir pointed out that although Nigeria has many entrepreneurs, many businesses face challenges in growing and improving. He said leadership, especially in business education, is key to overcoming these obstacles. The bill also proposes the creation of the Chartered Institute of Business Educators of Nigeria (CIBEN), which will focus on improving the quality of business education in the country.
Munir added that having well-trained business educators is crucial for shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs and ensuring their success in the global market. He emphasized that the establishment of CIBEN will help business educators get the right skills and knowledge to guide entrepreneurs effectively.
