In a recent military operation in January, 2025, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA successfully neutralized key figures in the terrorist network led by Bello Turji.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba which revealed that the military have neutralized Turji’s second-in-command, Aminu Kanawa, and inflicted serious injuries on his close allies, including his younger brother Dosso and ally Danbokolo. Also, several of Turji’s commanders, such as Abu Dan Shehu and Jabbi Dogo, were also eliminated, along with over 24 fleeing terrorists from Turji’s camps in Sokoto and Zamfara States.
Additionally, a notable terrorist named Suleiman, a loyalist of the late Halilu Sububu, was killed while attempting to reinforce Turji’s camp. The deaths of these key figures represent a significant setback for the terrorist group, which has been responsible for numerous kidnappings and attacks in the region.
He maintained that the military remains committed to eradicating these terrorist threats to ensure safety and security for all citizens.
