Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has
addressed the pressing issue of banditry in Nigeria. He emphasizes the need for proactive measures to tackle the criminal elements operating in the country’s vast forests, particularly during a sympathy visit to Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.

In a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to APC National Chairman- Edwin Olofu, Ganduje outlined a strategic plan focused on offensive security operations rather than the traditional reactive measures often employed by security agencies.

He highlighted the importance of military intervention in forested areas, drawing on his experience as the former governor of Kano State, where he successfully transformed Falgore Forest into a military training ground to eliminate criminal activities.

During his visit, Ganduje commended Governor Bago for his efforts in maintaining peace in Niger State, which faces unique challenges due to its large landmass and numerous forests. He expressed condolences to the families affected by recent violence and praised the governor’s commitment to safety and security in the region.

He further called for Infrastructural Improvement in response to the challenges faced by Niger State.

Governor Bago called on the Federal Government to address critical infrastructure issues, such as the Suleja-Minna road, to enhance safety and reduce accidents and improve safety in the state.
