Tinubu Mourns Ex-FCT Minister Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni

President Bola Tinubu has joined the government and people of Plateau State in mourning the death of Lieutenant-General Jeremiah Timbut Useni, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who passed away on Thursday at the age of 82.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to Useni’s family, friends, military colleagues, and political associates. Useni, who also served as the former Governor of old Bendel State, Minister of Transport, and Quarter-Master General of the Nigerian Army, was praised by the President for his courage and dedication throughout his military career. Tinubu highlighted that Useni’s example inspired many young officers to place national interests above personal gain.

The President also acknowledged Useni’s contributions to politics as the Deputy National Chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and as a Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District.

President Tinubu prayed for the eternal rest of Lieutenant-General Useni’s soul and for comfort and strength for his family during this difficult time.
