APC LAUNCHES DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION

The APC has in the first of its kind within the political sphere in Nigeria, officially launched a nationwide digital membership registration exercise.

The signing ceremony which took place at the APC national Secretariat Abuja on Tuesday was attended by the consulting Company Representative handling the project-Tunmef Global Limited, top party officials, governors, and party state chairmen.

The National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for endorsing the digital transformation agenda. He emphasized the importance of digitalization, particularly in the context of elections and party administration. He noted that the exercise would provide the APC with accurate and scientific data, which would be crucial for planning and litigation purposes.

The APC National Chairman also commended the party’s financial independence, which enabled it to sponsor the digital registration exercise. He called on state governors and chapter chairmen to ensure the successful implementation of the project within the stipulated timeframe.

The Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, also spoke at the event, describing the digital registration exercise as a step in the right direction. He praised President Tinubu for his vision in embracing digital solutions for the party’s operations.

The APC National Legal Adviser, Prof. AbdulKareem Kana (SAN), explained that the e-registration exercise would link members’ registration numbers to their National Identity Numbers (NIN). He further explained that this would enable the party to access detailed information about its members at the press of a button from any location.

The APC’s digital registration exercise is expected to be completed within a record time, with the party aiming to have a comprehensive updated database of its members ahead of the next general elections.
