The Public Accounts Committee has asked the Nigeria Immigration Service to address eight queries from the Auditor General concerning 2020 and 2021 reports, totaling N19.2 billion.
Lawmakers were confused when Brownson said the submissions were still being refined after being made.
The Committee also demanded evidence for a N4.1 billion reversal and questioned the legitimacy of a N2 billion payment made without proper approval.
Additionally, concerns were raised over potential violations of procurement and financial regulations and the failure to submit audited accounts from 2014 to 2023.The service has been given seven days to provide the required evidence, with top officials ordered to appear at the next hearing on February 25, 2025.
