Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide, and the Asiwaju of Yoruba in Kano State, has called on Yoruba people in northern Nigeria to unite and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
He made this appeal during the 10th anniversary and election of new executives of the Association of Yoruba Traditional Leaders/Obas in Northern States and the FCT, held in Abuja.
Abejide emphasized the significant Yoruba population in the North, particularly in Kano, where he estimated over 5 million Yoruba residents.
He urged them to leverage their numbers for political and economic benefits, stating that their support could influence governance in the region.He also announced plans to build an ultra-modern Yoruba palace in Kano and organize a major Yoruba gathering across the 19 northern states.
He highlighted the importance of preserving Yoruba culture and identity while working collectively for national development.
