The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has summoned Labour Minister Muhammadu Dingyadi over his failure to inaugurate the board of the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
The summons follows a petition from the Obasi-Pherson Help Foundation, which criticized the prolonged delay, warning that the absence of a board was enabling irregularities in the agency’s operations.
Committee Chairman Hon. Mike Etaba insisted that the Minister must appear in person to respond to the allegations.
Additionally, the Committee has invited NSITF Managing Director, Faleye Mayomi, to address a separate petition by ASJEDI, which accuses the agency of violating project clearance regulations.
Etaba emphasized the Committee’s commitment to ensuring accountability and due process in public institutions.
