IGP CELEBRATES WOMEN, PROMISES FORCE GENDER POLICY IMPLEMENTATION, ENHANCED GENDER INCLUSIVITY.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, extended his felicitations to women around the world as the world celebrated this year’s International Women’s Day.

In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer – Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to promoting gender equality, address gender-based discrimination within the Force and foster a more inclusive environment within the Nigeria Police Force.

He noted that the Force Gender Advisor, AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju, has played a major role in the establishment of the newly approved Force Gender Policy documents, and pledges commitment to its implementation.

Furthermore, he said the policy implementation will also feature an increased female representation in vital roles by actively seeking qualified female officers for leadership positions, specialized units, and strategic roles.

The IG stated that the Police Force is committed to creating a workplace where every officer, regardless of gender, has an opportunity to reach their full potential.
