As the Anambra APC gubernatorial screening ended today, Johnbosco Onunkwo, one of the aspirants and APC stalwart came out with high hopes of being the party’s flag bearer.
Johnbosco Onunkwo who is known as an engineer, a Rotarian and a humanitarian known for his various scholarships and humanitarian activities in the Anambra and it’s environs said APC winning Anambra is very important, so the people of the state will not only have a breath of fresh air; but also for the South East to be connected to the centre and make the handshake across the Niger a reality.
Onunkwo commended the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his directives for the inauguration of a reconciliation committee, which he says is necessary as few members of the party who started from AD, AC, ACN and now the APC feel marginalised as they constitute the majority of the voting strength and are needed to be reconciled back in order to win the elections.
In response to questions by journalists, Onunkwo stated that he would abide by the party’s decision to conduct indirect primaries while he hoped for the direct primaries as the efforts he had put into the state party infrastructure during the presidential election has made him a viable candidate as the party’s flag bearer.
While commemorating women on the International Women’s Day, Johnbosco who carried women along on his team promised women inclusivity in his government. He applauded the party on their policy on women participation in politics while appreciating their role in every sphere of life.
