The Chairman of the House of Representatives Adhoc Committee on Tax Reform Bills, Hon. James Faleke, has assured Nigerians that the proposed tax reform laws will be widely accepted and beneficial.
Following the adoption of the committee’s report on four tax bills, Faleke stated that the new laws would modernize Nigeria’s tax system.
The bills Nigerian Tax Bill, Tax Administration Bill, Revenue Tax Board Bill, and Nigerian Revenue Service Establishment Bill were reviewed through extensive public hearings and an eight-day retreat.
He commended the House leadership and President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing tax reforms, noting that some of Nigeria’s tax laws date back to 1959 and need urgent revision to support economic growth and revenue generation.
