MILITARY ARREST WANTED GUNRUNNERS, NEUTRALIZE TERRORISTS

The Nigerian Armed Forces in conjunction with hybrid forces, Office of the National security advisor -ONSA team and security agencies conducted multiple operations across different regions, leading to significant successes against terrorists, criminals, and oil thieves.

During the press briefing the Director Defence Media Operations,Major General Markus Kangye, said In the North East, the military successfully targeted ISWAP and Boko Haram fighters, and rescuing 75 persons including women and children who have been handed over to the Borno State Government for rehabilitation.

The troops also arrested notorious gunrunners-Sengi David at Bokkos LGA of Plateau State and Shehu Bagiwaye in Gudu LGA of Sokoto States respectively. During the operations, troops neutralized some extremists and their cohorts identified as Abdullahi (aka Honour), Jagaban and Dan Danger among others.

The South-South region saw major crackdowns on oil theft, with security forces preventing the illegal siphoning of crude oil worth over N461 million. Troops destroyed numerous illegal refining sites and confiscated stolen crude oil and refined products. Several criminals involved in oil theft were arrested, and offensive operations in Bayelsa and Delta States resulted in more arrests and the recovery of arms and ammunition.

The Armed Forces has reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the nation, emphasizing adherence to their constitutional roles, rules of engagement, and security protocols.
