The House of Representatives has passed 39 constitutional amendment bills for second reading, covering judiciary, security, electoral, and legislative reforms.
Key proposals include making NJC recommendations mandatory for removing court heads, empowering the Chief Justice to inaugurate a new National Assembly, and establishing state and local government police. Lawmakers also advanced bills on political party regulation and special seats for marginalized groups.
The bills have been sent to the Constitution Review Committee for further work. Additionally, the House received a report on a bill to replace the National Identity Management Act with a new National Identity Database.
