FCT Police Command Launches Three-Day Community Outreach for National Police Day 2025

Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Ajao S. Adewale, has kicked off a three-day Community Outreach program to mark National Police Day 2025.

The initiative, running from April 3rd to 5th, emphasizes collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the public in addressing societal challenges.

In a statement signed by the FCT command PRO- SP Josephine Adeh highlights this year’s theme as “Say NO to Crime,” reinforces the shared responsibility of combating crimes such as cultism, drug abuse, sexual-based violence, cybercrime, kidnapping, and other social vices.

The event commenced with a Clean-Up Exercise, highlighting the role of a clean and secure environment in enhancing public safety and community development. Commissioner of Police Ajao S. Adewale led officers in cleaning Lagos Street, Garki, and the Palace of the Sa’peyi of Garki, demonstrating the command’s dedication to community engagement beyond traditional law enforcement.

The Commissioner, Adewale expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his visionary leadership and commitment to community policing. He emphasized that the IGP’s ongoing reforms and modernization efforts continue to inspire officers, fostering stronger police-community relationships for a safer society.

The FCT Police Command remains committed to fostering trust, enhancing security, and ensuring effective policing through community-driven initiatives.
