FOUR KEY TERRORISTS COMMANDERS NEUTRALIZED- ONE CAPTURED- DHQ

Four key terrorists commanders namely Abba Allai (aka Amirul Khalid of Alafa), Abdullahi (aka Honour), Jagaban, and Dan Danger have been neutralized, while Abdullahi Ali was captured with severe injuries. These successful operations disrupted the leadership structures of Boko Haram and ISWAP factions, causing internal conflicts among their ranks.

The Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye during the brief on military operations said Operation DELTA SAFE in the fight against oil theft, prevented losses worth over Seven Billion, Four Hundred and Twenty-Eight Million, Six Hundred and Forty-Eight Thousand, Two Hundred and Forty-Six Naira (7,428,648,246.00) only. The breakdown indicates: 6,290,437 litres of stolen crude oil, 1,319,350 litres of illegally refined AGO, 6,130 litres of DPK and 4,545 litres of PMS. Additionally, troops discovered and destroyed 257 crude oil cooking ovens, 128 dugout pits, 192 boats, 138 storage tanks, 236 drums and 122 illegal refining sites. Other items recovered include; barge, speedboats, pumping machines, drilling machines, and over 90 vehicles. The operation underscored the military’s commitment to safeguarding the nation’s economic resources from criminal exploitation.

While in the North East, Operation HADIN KAI recorded significant victories against ISWAP and Boko Haram terrorists. Dozens of insurgents, including women and children, surrendered following sustained military pressure. Some gunrunners and terrorists’ logistics suppliers such as Alhaji Mansur Mohammed, Shehu Babangida, Sagi David, Blessing Paul, Shuaibu Maji were also arrested.

Similar successes were recorded in the North West and North Central regions, where operations such as FASAN YAMMA, WHIRL PUNCH, SAFE HAVEN, and WHIRL STROKE led to the arrest of criminals, rescue of kidnapped victims, and seizure of illegal firearms.

While responding to questions, Maj Gen Kangye said the welfare of soldiers remained the top priority of the military citing examples of keys to houses been given to soldiers built by the military free of charge at Idu area of Abuja. He further revealed that the medical bills of wounded soldiers were been taken care of in various hospitals in Nigeria as well as those that have had to be flown out as a result of severity of cases which could not be handled in the country.
